JOB LOCATION: GERMANY

As a High Voltage Cable Expert, you will work on major electrical infrastructure projects in Germany. You will be responsible for technical assessment, construction supervision, quality control, and participation in testing activities for HV/EHV/HVDC cable systems, both overhead and underground. You act as a key technical reference on site, ensuring compliance, safety, and performance of the installations.

YOUR TASKS

  • Assessing and validating technical solutions for HV/EHV/HVDC cables (XLPE, PPL, oil-filled, GIL).
  • Reviewing drawings, schematics, calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Supervising installation, pulling, laying, jointing, and termination works.
  • Ensuring compliance with IEC / CENELEC standards.
  • Participating in testing: VLF, PD, TDR, dielectric measurements.
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending corrective actions.
  • Preparing technical reports and non-conformity documentation.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to HSE rules and contributing to a strong safety culture.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Engineering degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in HV/EHV/HVDC projects (field + engineering).
  • Strong knowledge of cables, joints, terminations, and installation methods.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Solid understanding of IEC / CENELEC standards.
  • Experience with VLF, PD, TDR, and dielectric testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Understanding of thermal, mechanical, and electrical cable constraints.
CERTIFICATIONS & LANGUAGES
  • Electrical certifications or equivalent.
  • English required but German very appreciated.
SOFT SKILLS
  • Precision, autonomy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on construction sites and in multicultural teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
